Meet the Teacher

Em has completed nearly 600 hours of formal Yoga Teacher Training since 2018 at Yoga Alliance-approved schools. Certified in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga and Prenatal Yoga, she has taught in Costa Rica, the USA, and the UK, bringing a diverse range of experiences to her practice.

Em’s teaching style is inclusive and therapeutic, with each class thoughtfully designed to meet students where they are in their yoga journey. She believes in adapting yoga to fit the body, rather than the other way around, ensuring that each individual is supported in their practice.

Her flows are grounding and intentional, blending breathwork, dynamic movement, and a focus on stability, flexibility, and balance. For prenatal students, Em creates a space to connect deeply with themselves (and their baby). Passionate about yogic philosophy, Em seamlessly weaves themes of mindfulness and intention throughout class, paired with carefully curated playlists that guide you through the practice and flows.

FAQs

  • Vinyasa Yoga offers a dynamic and fluid practice that connects breath with movement, creating a seamless, mindful experience. This practice encourages balance, strength, and flexibility, while fostering a deep connection to the self.

For Em Vinyasa is more than just a physical workout; it's a journey towards greater awareness, both on and off the mat. Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, the practice here invites you to explore your own rhythm and cultivate inner peace.

  • Restorative yoga is a gentle, slow and passive flow designed to relieve stress by cultivating awareness in the present moment. Props such as blankets, pillows and blocks are used to support the body aiding in fully letting go. This is a practice where we connect the yin energy of just being, a state of least effort. Postures are held for longer periods of time.

Classes include a variety of breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation practices, yoga nidra (psychic sleep) alongside the movement.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and need a moment to take a pause from it all - this is the perfect class for you.

  • Supports mums-to-be during pregnancy in connecting more deeply to their growing babies and their changing bodies. This is a gentle yoga practice that allows you to slow down - making it a deeply nourishing and grounding practice.

Prenatal yoga is safe in all trimesters but recommended to begin during your second trimester at 14 weeks. No prior experience necessary!

Discuss with your midwife or doctor to feel more comfortable beginning a new physical activity during pregnancy.

  • By simply taking that first step—booking your class and showing up with an open mind. Yoga is about your personal journey, and there's no right or wrong way to begin. The first class is just the start, and from there, you'll continue to learn and grow at your own pace.

The most important thing is being present on your mat, ready to explore your body and breath. There's no need to have any prior experience—just come as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to be open to the experience. Em will guide you through each step, and you’ll feel supported the whole way.

  • Yoga is not about being flexible – it's about meeting your body where it is, right now. Flexibility comes with time and consistent practice, but yoga is much more than that. It's about tuning into how your body feels and honoring its limits, rather than pushing for perfection. The beauty of yoga is that it's for everyone, no matter where you're starting from.

In classes with Em, she focuses on how the practice makes you feel, rather than how you look in a pose. The goal is to feel good, strengthen your body, and connect with your breath. Flexibility will naturally develop as you continue, but the most important thing is that you're showing up for yourself.

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free from suffering. And may my own thoughts, words, and actions contribute in someway to that happniness and freedom for all.
